Sudbury Burlesque wants to be your ‘Va-Va-Valentine’

Bring your love out for a bit of burlesque fun Feb. 9-17

Northern Ontario's premiere burlesque troupe is getting ready to celebrate love and nostalgia with their latest production.

From Feb. 9-17, Sudbury Burlesque presents “Va-Va-Valentine! A Burlesque Cabaret” at Steve’s Encore Lounge in the Sudbury Theatre Centre.

This latest production features a sizzling revue with Sudbury Burlesque’s cast of showgirls accompanied by a live trio of local jazz musicians.

With champagne, hors-d'oeuvres, go-go dancing, sweet treats, party favours, local vendors, and more; the event promises to tantalize from the moment doors open to the minute patrons leave.

“We’re going all the way back to our roots with this production,” said Jess Crowe, artistic director of Sudbury Burlesque. “We started over 10 years ago with smaller, more intimate productions and we’re very excited to get back to performances where we get to connect with each and every audience member.”

Fever, Cissy Strut, It Don’t Mean A Thing - the soundtrack of this Valentine’s Day spectacle will have that swing that harkens to the era of jazz greats and the STC lounge will be transformed to feel just like those cabarets that gave life to those classics.

Va-Va-Valentine! runs from Thursday, Feb. 9 to Saturday, Feb. 11 and again from Tuesday, Feb. 14 to Friday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. at Steve’s Encore Lounge in the Sudbury Theatre Centre, 170 Shaughnessy St. A cash bar will be available. Sudbury Burlesque shows are for audiences 19 of age and older.

Electronic tickets are available at and physical tickets can be purchased at Knowhere Public House, at 130 Elm St.
