Sudbury's most charitable duo is back at it again.

This Saturday at Cousin Vinny's in the Hanmer Mall, the Bluez Brotherz (Vic Theriault and Rod Bazinet), featuring the four-piece Holligan Horn Line, will be headlining a show in support of the Hanmer and Val Caron food banks.

“After hearing that yet again, more and more people, including seniors and students, are having to make use of food banks, the Bluez Brotherz decided to help out,” Theriault said in a news release.

“The band, long affiliated with Blues For Food and their support of the Sudbury Food Bank, have organized a fundraiser to help out two lesser known, but well used, food banks. One in Hanmer, the other in Val Caron.”

Joining the Bluez Brotherz Showband and Revue on Saturday will be country music performers the Celine Tellier Band and the acoustic duo of Donny and Marie Osbourne.

The evening begins at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $15 a person, or just $10 if you bring a bag of non-perishable food.

The Bluez Brotherz have performed at the Downtown Rotary Blues For Food for the past 16 years, helping to bring in 57 tonnes of food and more than $250,000 for the Sudbury Food Bank. The goal is to make Saturday's fundraiser an annual event, as well.
