If you're involved in the local film industry or are interested in learning more about the topic, there's a symposium taking place Saturday that you'll want to check out.

The second annual Northern Ontario Film Training Symposium, taking place 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 23, is being hosted by IATSE Local 634 and the Northern Ontario Film Studios.

The symposium will see production partners from across the province coming together under one roof for a weekend of training seminars and industry networking.

These organizations include ACTRA Toronto, Cambrian College, William F. White International, Cooper Equipment Rentals, Directors Guild of Canada, Technicolor and IATSE International along with its Locals 411, 667 and 873.

The event will provide the public with a behind-the-scenes look at the growing film and television industry in Northern Ontario, the training required to ensure its sustainability, and the production partners essential to its long-term success in the region.

With community sponsored networking events and training seminars scheduled throughout the weekend, this event will showcase the contributions that have been made to Northern Ontario’s fastest growing industry in the region.
