Have you seen the sock burglar? We have all pondered the mystery of where our socks have disappeared. Local physician Dr. Yannick Charette has written a children’s book that uncovers the secret of those missing socks with “The Sock Burglar.”
With illustrations from local artist Monique Legault, the book is one that both children and adults will enjoy.
Each character brings a new layer to the mystery of those missing socks, while teaching children about compassion, acceptance and curiosity.
Children (or adults) can further explore each character and their creativity with the Sock Burglar colouring book.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of the Sock Burglar colouring book will be donated to NEO Kids Foundation. The colouring book was also illustrated by Legault.
A father of four young children, Charette developed the concept of the Sock Burglar while telling bed time stories to his children. As his children began to gain more interest into the story of the Sock Burglar, the story began to grow.
He soon realized that this was a story that any child or adult could relate to.
“I was inspired to write the Sock Burglar from the interest of my children and family,” said Charette, in a press release.
“It really became something that we were all involved in. Each character brings a unique and important attribute to the story.
“They also play an important role in developing an inclusive and intriguing storyline that sparks children’s imaginations.”
“The Sock Burglar is a book that can be enjoyed by anyone - both young and old,” said Patricia Mills, president of the NEO Kids Foundation.
