A special TVO series, called Ontario in the Global Bazaar, will look at where our province's economy is going and whether or not we're on the right track, said a news release.
The show airs on Monday, September 3 at 8 pm.
In June 2007 alone, Ontario lost 31,000 manufacturing jobs.
Ontario in the Global Bazaar looks at who is losing out and who
is winning and why. It profiles companies that are expanding
worldwide and manufacturing workers who are seeing their jobs
moved to China.
The program also looks at the island nation of Taiwan.
While Taiwan saw its manufacturing sector hollowed out a decade
ago, its economy continues to be vibrant. Why?
Leading academics, including the deans of the Rotman and Ivey
schools of business, economist Mike Stanford of the Canadian
Auto Workers Union and business leader Mike Lazaridis of
Research In Motion weigh in on how Ontario can prosper in a
globalized world.
