Watoto Children’s Choir presents its Oh What Love! production at three local churces later this month.

The group performs at First Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Feb. 27, at Valleyview Community Church at 10 a.m. Feb. 28 and again at Glad Tidings Church at 6 p.m. Feb. 28.

Watoto Children's Choir is a group of African children's choirs based in Kampala, Uganda, at Watoto Church. Each is composed of about 22 children from Uganda.

Watoto means "children" in Swahili language.

The choir is made up of children who have lost one or both parents to the AIDS epidemic or to war, but now live in a Watoto village. Their performances are a blend of native African rhythms, contemporary gospel music and ethnic dance.

“After losing my parents I felt alone, with no one to love me. Now I know that God is my father,” said one of the choir's members, six-year-old Jackie Nakku, in a press release.

“He loves and cares for me. As I travel on the choir, I am going to show people that God loves them too.”
