La Nuit sur l'étang has announced the members of the house band for its March 24 event.

The band will be directed by Guy Coutu. Born and raised in Sudbury, Coutu is a composer, arranger and performer who, for the past 20 years, has distinguished himself in a variety of musical ensembles including Les Chaizes Muzikales and Konflit dramatiK

His band Toejam Tequila, with whom he has been working for more than 10 years, has been raising crowds all over the province, interpreting the great successes of the sixties to today's hits.

As a freelancer, Coutu shared the stage with Stef Paquette, Patricia Cano, Gil Grand and Robert Paquette, among others.

This year, in a retrospective of 45 years of Franco-Ontarian music, four young musicians will join Coutu to accompany the young artists of the evening.

On the drums: Mathieu Landry. As a freelance artist, Landry is active in the music industry in Sudbury, in Ottawa and Toronto. He accompanies Martine Fortin, Edouard Landry, Le Paysagiste, among many others.

At La Nuit Sur L'Étang 2015, he is among the musicians who performed during the last performance of PAD (Robert Paquette, Marcel Aymar, Paul Demers). As member of the emerging group Telecolor (La Nuit Émergente 2017), Landry explores several musical universes including rock, jazz and ambient music.

On the guitar: Marc-Antoine Joly. He is a singer-songwriter from Hawkesbury. Multi-instrumentalist, we heard him on the guitar in his former group Akoufen, but also in In Bright Lights, The Great Diversion. As a freelance musician, he accompanied many artistes like Céleste Lévis, LGS, Gabrielle Goulet, and many others.

Having won the Thunderbolt Award at Contact Ontarois in 2011, he has made more than 50 shows in Ontario's school networks. It is with his album 'Au plus bas' that he finds himself at number 8 of the French charts of iTunes

On bass: Zacharie Ouellette. As an emerging bassist, Ouellette began his musical career very well. Having accompanied Le groupe 17 in high school and Joëlle Villeneuve at La Brunante 2017, where had training with Daniel Bédard and won first prize.

He has participated in several tours with Groupe 17 and was fortunate enough to be part of three editions of the Quand Quand Nous Chante music Festival, where he won several awards.

He had the opportunity to play at the Franco-Ontarian Games in Woodstock, as a member of the Mosaïque Show, the Franco Festival, and in Moncton-Dieppe with the Horizon Group. Now as a refined bass player, Ouellette is preparing for the 45th edition of Night on the Pond.

Finally, on keyboards: Zachary Clément. As a freelance keyboardist and member of several music groups, Clément is very active in the music industry in Sudbury and North Bay. He has been developing his musical career on the French stage as well as on the English stage with Mandala and Les Giselles in Sudbury and Roadhouse from North Bay. In addition, Clément is a major in music at Laurentian University and is a member of the University’s Jazz group led by Allen Walsh.
