The Young Professionals Association (YPA) is hosting its annual awards gala Friday, Nov. 7 at the Holiday Inn on Regent Street at 7:30 p.m. The gala, presented by Bell, allows the association to celebrate its accomplishments over the year with all its members and community supporters.

The YPA will be highlighting a male and female young professional of the year and an award for best place to work for young professionals.

"This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate our young professionals that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to improving our city as well as highlight an employer who truly is devoted to employing Sudbury's young people and assuring their happiness and growth within the company or organization," said André Lapierre, chair of the YPA.

Anyone can nominate an individual between the ages of 20-35 or a workplace that they feel deserves to be recognized for its leadership, hard work, community involvement and enthusiasm for Sudbury as a whole. The YPA acknowledges a young professional that works in all fields including mining, health care, education, retail, finance and many more Deadline for nominations is Oct. 31. Nominated individuals do not have to be YPA members and self-nominations are welcome.

Tickets are now on sale at $15 for YPA members and $20 for non-members. Call 688-7582 or email [email protected] .
