12 Days of Kindness: Illness won't break her spirit, watch us make her year

Sudbury.com’s 12 Days of Kindness has officially begun

Welcome to another season of giving!

It's day one of Sudbury.com's 12 Days of Kindness supported by @homeEnergy.

If 2020 has taught us anything, it is the importance of family and supporting one another through trying times.

Today we are meeting Lisa Morris, a single mom who, despite her own health challenges, continues to show compassion for others — a trait that she has also passed on to her son, Liam, who has a disability.

Lisa has struggled with depression and PTSD. She also had breast cancer and is recovering from a recent double mastectomy. Despite these challenges, Lisa is determined that nothing will break her spirit.

Watch as HQ Mortgages makes Lisa's year by lightening some of her financial burden.

If you or anyone you know is struggling with mental illness or addictions and you need someone to talk to, phone the Canadian Mental Health Association at 866-285-2642 or the NISA Warmline at 866-856-WARM.

Each weekday morning leading up to Christmas, Sudbury.com will recognize a deserving person, family or organization.

Visit Sudbury.com/AOK to find out how you can help share some good news in our community.
