The Rainbow District Animal Control and Shelter Services will hold another adopt-a-thon and open house on July 12.

Adopt-a-thons have been regular occurrences at the shelter over the past few years, and have met with resounding success, having found new homes for many cats and dogs.

During the adopt-a-thon, the shelter will waive the normal adoption fees on animals that came into the shelter’s care spayed or neutered. The only cost would be to purchase a license. The shelter also has many animals who can be adopted for the cost of their spays or neuters.

“We will have several beautiful, friendly, playful and healthy fixed and vaccinated adult animals looking for homes,” said a news release from the shelter.

The shelter is located at 411 St. Agnes St. West in Azilda. The adopt-a-thon will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Small Things CATS will be hosting a fundraising yard sale and barbecue concurrently with this event.
