Apartment fire leaves eight looking for a place to live

It took 17 firefighters from four stations to battle an apartment fire Wednesday on Eva Street in the Valley. No one was hurt in the fire, but eight people have been displaced and there's $200,000 in damage to the two-storey, five-unit building.

It took 17 firefighters from four stations to battle an apartment fire Wednesday on Eva Street in the Valley.

No one was hurt in the fire, but eight people have been displaced and there's $200,000 in damage to the two-storey, five-unit building. All apartments were affected by the blaze, Greater Sudbury Fire Services said in a news release, suffering heavy smoke and fire damage.

No word yet on the cause.
