Barrydowne, Kingsway will have lanes closed overnight over next month

Motorists in Greater Sudbury are being advised one of the area's busiest thoroughfares will see one lane closed during overnight hours for more than a month starting today (Monday).

Motorists in Greater Sudbury are being advised one of the area's busiest thoroughfares will see one lane closed during overnight hours for more than a month starting today (Monday).

There will be lane closures on Barrydowne Road and The Kingsway nightly until Friday, Feb. 18.

Sections of one southbound lane on Barrydowne Road, between Gemmell Street to The Kingsway, will close between 10 pm and 6 am every day until the work is completed, as well as all day Sunday.

Sections of one westbound lane on The Kingsway, from Barrydowne Road to Cochrane Street, will also close between 10 pm and 6 am until Feb. 18. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in this section every Sunday until then as well.

The lane closures are necessary to permit the installation of aerial fibre cable by a contractor working on behalf of Greater Sudbury Hydro.
