Bigger congratulates Lefebvre, Serré on election wins

Says both are 'effective' MPs

Mayor Brian Bigger issued a statement this morning congratulating the area's re-elected Liberal MPs.

Once the dust settled on the 43rd federal election, Nickel Belt MP-elect Marc Serré took 39 per cent of the votes in the riding to claim victory, while Sudbury MP-elect Paul Lefebvre was re-elected with 40.8 per cent of the vote.

The mayor congratulated both men and called them "effective" MPs for their ridings.

"I’d like to extend congratulations on behalf of all our City’s residents and City Council to Marc Serre and Paul Lefebvre who will continue to represent us in Ottawa," the mayor's statment reads.

Statement from Mayor Bigger - Congratulations to Marc Serre and Paul Lefebvre

As Mayor of the City of Greater Sudbury I’d like to extend congratulations on behalf of all our City’s residents and City Council to Marc Serre and Paul Lefebvre who will continue to represent us in Ottawa. Both Marc and Paul have been so effective as advocates, promoters and leaders of our City and I know they will continue to work hard, day in and day out to ensure we all benefit from their continued hard work at the federal level.
