BLIND RIVER, ON – The Blind River Beavers Noah Tegelaar made 27 saves to lead the Beavers to a 5-0 home win over the visiting Greater Sudbury Cubs in NOJHL action at the Blind River Community Centre on Saturday night.

After a scoreless opening period, the Beavers Jesse Dupuis and Evan Fraccaro scored power play markers less than 30 seconds apart to get the Beavers rolling.

Dupuis put home a rebound home off a shot from Michael Gallagher on a 5 on 3 power play which made it 1-0.

Still on a 5 on 4 power play, Fracarro scored on a big rebound off the pads of Noah Metivier for a 2-0 lead at 6:41 of the second.

The home team increased the lead just over 3 minutes into the third, as Josh Thompson took a quick shot through a screen that beat Metivier and made it 3-0 for the Beavers.

Tyler Vorstadt netted his third of the season from long distance as his clearing shot from the top of the Beavers’ faceoff circle found the empty net at 17:38 of the third.

Joseph Rotillo scored on a breakaway in the final seconds shorthanded which made it 5-0.

The Beavers shutout victory was key as it moved them into a tie for first place in the NOJHL West with the Cubs as both teams have 76 points with the Beavers having a game in hand.
