Canadian Blood Services has announced its national contact centre is now open at its new location at 300 Elm St. downtown. The NCC is designed to strengthen collection growth by improving efficiencies and enhancing processes by providing even greater customer service to donors and the public.

Telerecruitment activities that currently take place in all CBS locations across the country will be consolidated in one fully integrated facility that will handle functions such as booking donor appointments, answering questions from the public, recruiting donors, supporting marketing campaigns and addressing eligibility requirements.

Sudbury was selected for its large bilingual workforce, supportive local government and competitive lease rates. Its estimated 100 full-time jobs will be created.

Sue Blasutti, Sudbury centre director, has been seconded to the position of NCC director. Frances Sawdon, Sudbury collections manager, will act as centre director for the existing Canadian Blood Services in Sudbury.
