Collège Boréal's medical imaging technology – radiology program has been accredited by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) for the next six years.

Health programs receive CMA accreditation only when they meet national standards. This ensures that students acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to function as competent health practitioners.

There are several components to the lengthy accreditation process, including the application, a program self-assessment report, the document review, and an on-site program visit.

The CMA accords six-year accreditation status to programs that comply with all five requirements.

Boréal’s Medical Imaging Technology – Radiology program is offered at the college’s Sudbury campus over six semesters (three years) and is recognized by the Canadian Forces.

Boréal is the only college in Ontario to offer this program in French. To become registered to practice in Canada, graduates must pass the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification examination.

“For over 20 years, Collège Boréal has been committed to offering high quality programs and services to foster the sustainable development of Ontario’s Francophone community,” said Daniel Giroux, the college's incoming president.

“This accreditation reflects the excellence of our Medical Imaging Technology – Radiology program and is a testament to the commitment and expertise of our teaching staff.”

“Our staff and students can be very proud of this announcement,” said Kim Morris, dean of the college's school of health sciences.

“Graduates of an CMA accredited program benefit from the assurance that their education has met national standards. They also have the ability to gain nationally recognized credentials through their professional designation.”
