In one of his first official duties, mayor-elect Brian Bigger will launch the second Downtown Sudbury Art Crawl at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 20.

“We are honoured to have our new mayor-elect Mr. Bigger take part in officially opening the event,” said Sudbury Arts Council president Linda Cartier, in a press release.

The first downtown art crawl took place last spring, and was “an outstanding success, introducing local citizens and visitors to an eclectic variety of artistic experiences all in the downtown area,” the press release said.

The upcoming event, which runs until 8 p.m. Nov. 20, takes place at 18 downtown venues.

These include the Art Gallery of Sudbury, Sudbury Theatre Centre, Laughing Buddha, Black Apple Studios, Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario, Artists on Elgin, Sudbury Paint and Custom Framing, Cafe Petit Gateau, Myths and Mirrors Community Arts, Victoria's Custom Framing, Wilkinson Building (multiple galleries and studios), 84 Station, Laurentian Architecture, NISA, Let's Scrabbalatte, Studio 123, Open Studio and Studio 276.
