Cambrian College is accepting applications for two new graduate certificate programs that will begin in September 2017.

The two new programs are Mobile Application Development and Project Management.

“The College is very pleased to add Mobile Application Development and Project Management to our menu of more than 80 full-time programs,” said Jean Brown, Vice President, Academic.

“Both programs respond to labour market needs and will be a great fit for those who have a previous college diploma or university degree and wish to add to their academic credentials and broaden their skill set.”

Mobile Application Development:

“Mobile app development is a fast-growing and highly competitive industry, directly related to the global smartphone market as users expect apps for almost everything,” said program coordinator Brian Lobban.

“We’re expecting to attract creative thinkers who are ready to develop mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Our grads will be ready to create and publish native, game and cross-platform mobile applications that will enhance the user experience and gain prominence in the app market.”

The program includes a mandatory placement that offers hands-on professional experience and industry connections.

Project Management:

“Our new Project Management program will position graduates for growing leadership opportunities across Canada and in northern Ontario,” said program coordinator Marnie Staffen.

“Businesses and organizations are becoming leaner while experienced administrators continue to retire, so there are growing demands for experienced project managers across many sectors including health, education, social and community services, retail, engineering, architecture and design, science, and information technology.” Cambrian’s new Project Management program offers two semesters of in-class learning and includes a capstone project.”
