Before you can even say, “Where has the summer gone?” thousands of post-secondary students are getting ready for where they are going.

Cambrian College is gearing up for the start of the September fall semester.

Unlike the previous two fall semesters, most students will be back on campus as Cambrian emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic and returns to a more traditional in-person campus experience.

Proof of vaccination, physical distancing and masking will not be required to access campus or live in Student Residence, but instead will be a matter of personal choice.

Cambrian will continue to encourage all students and staff to follow infection control best practices such as frequent hand hygiene and staying home if feeling ill.

Even with more on-campus activity, Cambrian will continue to provide a blend of virtual and in-person learning, in real-time and on-demand.

Students can find out how their programs will be delivered in the 2022 Fall Program Delivery chart, found at www.cambriancollege.ca/campus-updates, under the section “Academics.”

“A huge part of the college experience is interacting on campus with your fellow students, faculty members, and other staff, and that sense of community has always been one of the distinguishing characteristics of Cambrian,” says Cambrian president Bill Best, in a press release.

“At the same time, we know many students have enjoyed the flexibility that comes with virtual learning, and we are going to continue to provide that option for many of our students.”

As it does every September, Cambrian College will be starting the semester with an extensive orientation to help students make a smooth transition to campus and to their studies.

Orientation will be both online and in-person. Students who sign up for their virtual orientation before Sept. 9 will be entered in a draw to win $2,500 or one of 100 Positive Inception sweatshirts (sizes available on a first-come, first-served basis).

Residence move-in weekend will be held Sept. 2-3 and feature a street party with a DJ, free BBQ, free swag, student services information and Cambrian’s famous “Move In” team.

Orientation Week, Sept. 6-9, will also include the Help Me Desk to answer any questions about campus life, a carnival meet-and-greet in the main courtyard, a student services fair in the gym, and a campus scavenger hunt.
