Cambrian honours employees who go above and beyond

College also gives recognition to longstanding employees

Cambrian College celebrated achievements and milestones on June 9 at the college’s annual faculty and staff recognition event, known as Rendezvous.

At the gathering, Cambrian President Bill Best presented the President’s Awards for Excellence in the Administrator and Support Staff categories.

The Faculty Award winner was also recognized; that award was presented at the school's convocation. Retiring employees, and those celebrating 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service, were also honoured.

The President’s Award for Excellence recognizes employees who have been exemplary in their efforts to not only achieve their own professional goals, but to inspire other members of the Cambrian community to set and achieve the highest standards.

The following individuals are recipients of this year’s Awards for Excellence:

Nicole Beauparlant, Manager of Enrolment Services (Administrator)
Known for her positive attitude and enthusiasm, Beauparlant leads many of the processes that affect the lives of present and future students. On a personal level, she regularly provides guidance and support to these same students. She ensures that from application to admission to graduation, Cambrian’s students have a memorable and positive experience, which is fundamental to the success of the College. Beauparlant sits on five provincial organizations related to her field, including the Committee of Registrars, Admissions and Liaison Officers, and the Ontario Association of Student Financial Aid administrators.

David Willcock, Civil Engineering Professor in the Schools of Skills Training and Engineering Technology and Environmental Studies
Willcock has been a professor at Cambrian for 20 years, and over that time he has developed a reputation for excellence. He is known for his commitment to his students and graduates, and his exceptional knowledge. Willcock is an active volunteer, both on campus and off. He helped to send donated equipment and supplies to Africa and spent a month in Tanzania teaching locals how to use the equipment so they could develop their workforce. David is a well-respected teacher, mentor, friend and colleague at Cambrian, who has shaped many lives over the course of his career.
