For the 12th consecutive year, Cambrian’s paramedic graduates have obtained a 100-per-cent success rate on their provincial certification exam, which is the final step to be registered to work in the field of paramedicine in Ontario.
"Dan Draper, dean of the School of Emergency Services, and Derek McKinnon, paramedic program coordinator, wish to congratulate all of the 2016 graduates for their dedication to success and for preparing themselves effectively for this challenging exam," said a news release from Cambrian College.
"McKinnon and Draper also observed that this tradition of success is possible thanks to the excellent efforts of committed Cambrian professors, technicians and staff members."
Recent graduates of the paramedic program find employment as primary care paramedics.
Cambrian also offers an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) graduate certificate program to prepare students for careers as advanced land or flight paramedics.
Unique among Ontario Colleges, the flight component of Cambrian’s ACP program provides graduates with increased opportunities for employment.
Ontario’s air ambulance service, ORNGE, partnered with Cambrian to create this program and recently hired eight ACP graduates to serve northern Ontario communities.
