Cambrian students bring home hardware from marketing competition

'Our students did a great job'

It was a very successful business trip to Niagara Falls this past weekend for Team Cambrian College at the Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition (OCMC).

Students from Cambrian reached the podium three times.

Cambrian students Johnny Foisy and Spencer Haddad won third place in the Marketing Case category.

Matt Rogers and Sarah Kesek were on teams that placed second and third respectively in the Quiz Bowl competition. In Quiz Bowl, teams of four students, made up of randomly selected colleges, compete against each other in a quiz-style format.

“We’re incredibly proud of the team this year,” said Cambrian College Business professor and team coach Marnie Staffen, in a press release.

“We had one third-place finish last year and we’ve never had students on teams that placed in the top three in Quiz Bowl before, so this year was very successful for Team Cambrian. Our students did a great job.”

The OCMC is held annually and features college Business and Marketing students competing head-to-head in a variety of categories. Teams from 12 colleges competed at this year’s event.

Cambrian College said in a press release it offers more than a dozen business programs, with program starts in September, January, and May.
