The second annual Crosstown CARS 4 KIDZ event raised $25,000 in support of NEO Kids Foundation’s pediatric medical care. The event ran Saturday, Sept. 9 in Sudbury.

With nearly 100 vehicles on display, and an estimated attendance of almost 1,000 people,  a release from NEO Kids Foundation states the second CARS 4 KIDZ event “can officially be declared a ‘suped-up’ success.”

Super cars, classic cruisers, heavy equipment and emergency service vehicles were all on display for CARS 4 KIDZ, at the Crosstown Chevrolet location, at 280 Falconbridge Road.

The car show featured rare and exotic cars including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and many muscle and classic cars by members of the Classic Cruisers car club. McDowell Equipment showed off their construction equipment, and the City of Greater Sudbury brought their emergency service vehicles. CARS 4 KIDZ also included activities for families, as well as food trucks and prizes.

“CARS 4 KIDZ was born out of a passion for cars and fundraising,” said Kristen Pollesel, Dealer Principal at Crosstown in the release. “The year 2021 marked the first year we held the event, and with this year’s final tally we are happy to report that overall our CARS 4 KIDZ events in Sudbury have raised over $50,000 to support NEO Kids.”

“As a family physician who graduated from NOSM and now lives and works in the Greater

Sudbury community, I have always understood the value of NEO Kids, as well as the importance and benefits of keeping kids close to home when they require treatment,” said Dr. Robbie Pastre, event organizer. “I’m also a car enthusiast, and am extremely proud to lend my support and help organize the CARS 4 KIDZ event.”

The strong turnout from the community at CARS 4 KIDZ was great, said Anthony Keating, President & Chief Development Officer at the Foundations at Health Sciences North, in the release. “Funds raised will support projects aimed at keeping kids close to home when they need care; that's what NEO Kids is all about.”
