There's free public transit to The Market: Tell the driver that you are attending Healthy Kids Day at The Market and your bus ride is free.
Healthy Kids Day: Kids 12 and under who attend The Market between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. will receive $3 in "market bucks" to spend on their choice of fresh fruits and vegetables at participating produce vendor stands.
Third Annual Giant Sunflower Competition: The Foodshed Project will be at the Market judging sunflowers from 10 a.m. to12 p.m. You can register at the FoodShed table at the Market.
Pig Roast: Pit Master, Dan Miron, brings you delicious pulled pork sandwiches and fresh coleslaw made with local produce from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Limited quantities, while supplies last.)
Corn on the Cob: Healthy Kids and the Nickel City Roller Derby Teams are hosting a FREE corn on the cob boil between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (One cob per person, while supplies last.)
Jubilation will be entertaining the crowd from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a mix of folk music and audience engagement.
Skate Exchange and Sharpening: Need a pair of skates so you can stay active this winter? Do you have skates that you don't need anymore? Drop by the Skate Exchange trailer to drop off or pick up a new-to-you pair of skates for free! Community businessman, Don Quenville, will be sharpening children's skates on site for free.
