The lab is part of a new program offered at the school that provides students the opportunity to gain skills in hairstyling and esthetics as part of their classroom learning. There are currently 44 students, spread out over two semesters, enrolled in the Grade 11 hairstyling and esthetics course.

"Students identify trends in the hairstyling and esthetics industry, describe scientific and physical processes used in beauty services, learn to respect environmental, health and safety laws, and explore career opportunities," says Odvar Hagen, principal of Chelmsford Valley District Composite School.

The school will explore the idea a bilingual curriculum based on student need.
