The $4.4 million construction and repair work project includes the construction of a new gym, the conversion of the old gym into early learning kindergarten rooms and the replacement of part of the school's roof.
Construction should be completed by the end of October, said Rainbow District School Board director of education Norm Blaseg.
The new, “huge” gym will allow the school's students to participate in more competitive sports, including volleyball and basketball, as it meets provincial guidelines, he said.
