Cinéfest Sudbury has unveiled the first film screening for its 2023 Red Carpet Patron Program.
The film “Tempête (Ride Above)” is a French family drama that screens at SilverCity Sudbury on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.
“Driven by the dream of someday becoming a jockey like her father, Zoé (Carmen Kassovitz) leads a happy life at her parents’ racehorse stables. When the stable’s prize mare gives birth to a foal that Zoé names Tempest, she is the first to see in him the champion her parents have been waiting and working for all their lives—the winner she will ride to victory,” the film description reads.
“But Zoé’s dreams are shattered one stormy night when a panicked Tempest accidentally injures her, leaving her permanently disabled. With the indefectible support of her family and the help of Seb (Kacey Mottet Klein), a stable hand with a gift for communicating with horses, Zoé will seek to conquer the impossible in pursuit of her dream.”
“All Red Carpet Patrons are granted free admittance and complimentary popcorn with their Red Carpet Patron card.”
