The City of Greater Sudbury has partnered with Canadian Blood Services to help ensure lifesaving blood products are available to hospital patients in need.

The city has adopted the Barrydowne blood donor clinic and committed to recruit new donors and fill appointments to help collect 160 donations at the clinic the week of June 13 to 16.

“We are happy to support staff in this great initiative,” said Mayor Brian Bigger. “We also invite Greater Sudbury residents to join us and make an appointment to donate blood.”

“I am thrilled that as an organization we are able to support such an important cause,” said Kevin Fowke, director of human resources for the city. “I encourage all staff to help out by donating blood to patients in need.”

You can make an appointment to donate blood at the Sudbury clinic, located at 944 Barrydowne Road. For more information on donating or on Canadian Blood Services, visit blood.ca.
