The City of Greater Sudbury received $444,925 for its fourth-quarter gaming payment for hosting Gateway Casinos Sudbury.

During OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023), Sudbury received $1,929,529, the corporation said. Since the Chelmsford gaming site opened in November 1999, Sudbury has received $47,831,984.

Payments to host communities are based on a formula that uses a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site. All profits generated by OLG are returned to the province.

“OLG’s Municipal Contribution Agreement payments are building strong communities where people and families can enjoy a high quality of life,” said Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy. “These revenues help support local programs and critical infrastructure, making a real difference for gaming host municipalities.”
