City's food policy council digs into first meeting May 14

The first gathering of the Greater Sudbury Food Policy Council will be taking place May 14 at 4 p.m. at the Motley Kitchen, 70 Yonge St.

The meeting is casual with a presentation about the Greater Sudbury Food Policy Council and their current activities.

The event provides an opportunity to meet food producers, distributors and non-profit organizations involved with Sudbury’s food system, and share ideas on future priorities for the new council.

The Greater Food Policy Council was founded in 2013 with a mission to support the development of an equitable and sustainable food system for the City of Greater Sudbury through research, advocacy and the dissemination knowledge of food issues.

They also plan to foster collaboration and communication amongst other food system stakeholders including business, community organizations, individuals and government.
