École secondaire catholique Champlain (Chelmsford) recently embarked on an intergenerational project with some of the community's seniors, with the aim of reinforcing the positive climate in the school.
Members of the Rayside Balfour 50 Club have signed on to work with the school's social worker and Wellness Committee to organize caring activities for the entire student body.
Together, they will present stress management tools and strategies to cultivate a positive growth mindset, offer support and nurture positive connections with teenagers through play, relaxation activities and other wellness sessions.
Last week, Monique Blais, Nicole Morin, Colombe Courchesne and Christine Séguin from the Club 50 came to greet the students at the school entrance to establish initial contact with them. “ÉSC Champlain students wish to thank these ladies for their enthusiasm and beautiful smiles,” said a press release.
“They will be privileged to get to know them throughout the course of this initiative, and to experience some wonderful moments in their company.”
