The French Catholic school board has announced that Collège Notre-Dame will be closed until March 19 to ensure the safety of students and staff after a second case of COVID-19 was detected at the high school.

“At the moment, students are expected to resume their learning at school on Monday, March 22, 2021,” said a letter dated March 6 posted on Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon’s website.

“If this return date should change, the Conseil will inform you of details. To support students in their learning, grade 9 to 12 students from Collège Notre-Dame will be able to pursue their learning at home in a virtual format until their return to the classroom.”

The school board said the second COVID-19 case at Collège Notre-Dame affected the following classes: SBI3UN02, EAE2DN03 and PPL-20N02. The board said students in these classes should self-isolate and receive a COVID-19 test.

More specific information on the COVID-19 situation at the school is available in this letter from Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon

The Rainbow District School Board is also reporting that a student at Princess Anne Public School has tested positive for COVID-19.

The kindergarten class in room 123 has been directed to self-isolate until March 16. Students in one cohort in the before and after school ELK program are also directed to self-isolate until March 16.

Princess Anne Public School remains open for in-person learning, as do the child care and before and after school programs. There is no evidence of transmission of COVID-19 in the school at this time, the board said.

More information about the Princess Anne COVID-19 case is available in this letter from the Rainbow board.
