The publishers of Northern Life and Northern Ontario Business are pleased to announce the appointment of Marlene Moore as director of executive programs.

The publishers of Northern Life and Northern Ontario Business are pleased to announce the appointment of Marlene Moore as director of executive programs.

Most recently, Moore was employed as national marketing/ communications manager with Metso Minerals Canada Inc., an international manufacturer of equipment for the mining, aggregates and construction industries.

Prior to that, she handled regional public relations for MCTV, and was the first executive director of the Northern Ontario Business Awards program at Laurentian Publishing Inc.

She has served as president of the Sudbury Business and Professional Women?s Club, communications committee chair with the United Way, and a board member of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Moore currently serves on the Sudbury Mining Week Committee and the CIM Maintenance Engineers / Mine Operators Conference 2005 organizing committee.

She is a graduate of Laurentian University and Cambrian College.

In her new role, Moore will oversee the Northern Life Community Builders Awards program. She will also assist in organizing the newly established NORCAT/Northern Ontario Business Opportunities Series. Regionally, she will oversee the operations of the Northern Ontario Business Awards program and the Influential Women of Northern Ontario Awards program.
