A man died in hospital following an industrial incident at Forest Ridge Golf and Country Club on Sept. 17.

Greater Sudbury Police received a call around 1:55 pm on Monday regarding an incident on the property of the golf course involving a construction worker who was working on the property.

Uniform officers and Criminal Investigations Division detectives attended the scene.

Sudbury.com has received unconfirmed reports that a man was crushed when a telephone pole fell from a transport truck.

The 58-year old man was transported to hospital by paramedics, however he succumbed to his injuries.

This is currently a coroner’s investigation and GSPS officers will support the coroner throughout the investigation.

The Ministry of Labour is simultaneously conducting an investigation into the cause of the incident.
