Ward 8 candidate Stefano Presenza has made transparency a plank in his campaign.

One of the people seeking the council seat in Ward 8 has made transparency a plank in his campaign.

In a news release, Stefano Presenza said city councillors have several responsibilities, but speaking up for the needs of the ward are paramount. And he vowed to use social media to help him stay abreast of those needs.

"For this 2018 municipal election, I have decided as part of my campaign to video interview constituents and businesses of our Ward 8 who wish to speak up about issues that have been occurring around us," Presenza said.

"Not only do I want to hear what’s on residents’ minds, but thoughts on how the city can do better, and how the upcoming Ward 8 councillor can do better. I am currently recruiting participants, and I have already conducted a few interviews. These will be shared via social media, on my website and Facebook page.

Presenza said he will also be video-blogging answers to the questions he receives, as he did during the 2014 campaign.

"This time around, I wanted to take this process a step further by giving constituents a chance to share their views with the ward, with the goal of connecting us, working together, and growing the community."
