A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Ernie Checkeris Public School.
According to the Rainbow District School Board’s website, the school has four active cases of COVID-19 - one in a staff member and three in students.
An outbreak in a school is defined as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students or staff (or other visitors) in a school where at least one case could have reasonably been acquired their infection in the school.
There are 99 active cases of COVID-19 in area JK-12 schools.
Including the latest outbreak at Ernie Checkeris, there are 10 COVID-19 outbreaks at area schools, and three associated with school buses.
Sudbury Student Services Consortium also has a number of school bus cancellations related to COVID-19 exposures to report today.

- COVID-19 exposure on the morning intermediate/secondary portion of bus Route L115 - The Route is cancelled and will resume Monday, Dec. 6. The affected schools are Lasalle Secondary and Lasalle Elementary 7&8.
- COVID-19 exposure on the afternoon intermediate/secondary portion of bus Route N104 - The Route is cancelled and will resume Monday, Dec. 6. The affected schools are Lasalle Secondary and Lasalle Elementary 7&8.
