Cancer Care Ontario's new My CancerIQ online tool can help a person determine their personalized risk of developing breast, cervical, colorectal and lung cancers.
A travelling exhibit that showcases a new way for people to calculate their risk of developing breast, cervical, colorectal and lung cancers will make a pit stop in Sudbury on April 21 and 22.

MyCancerIQ is a new online tool created in January by Cancer Care Ontario to help people calculate their risk of developing certain cancers. Participants answer a number of questions. Based on the results, My CancerIQ helps people reduce their cancer risk by providing personalized recommendations and access to additional trusted resources.

The whole process takes less than 10 minutes and the information is completely confidential.

“You can't see inside your body to find out how your choices are affecting your health,” said Dr. Linda Rabeneck, vice-president of prevention and cancer control at Cancer Care Ontario. "With My CancerIQ, you can better understand your cancer risk factors and start making lifestyle changes to avoid it."

The online tool provides personalized risk reports and guides can be saved, printed and emailed. These results can be discussed with a healthcare provider. My CancerIQ can be accessed from a smartphone, tablet or desktop at MyCancerIQ.ca.

The travelling exhibit will be on display at the New Sudbury Centre from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on April 21 and at the Ramsey Lake Health Centre from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 22.
