Dedicated volunteers: Greater Sudbury announces 2020 Civic Awards winners

Each year, the City of Greater Sudbury recognizes community volunteers through Civic Awards. The awards are presented to individuals and groups who consistently give back to the community.

Civic Awards promote and reward leadership, humanitarian service and enrichment of the human spirit through volunteerism and community involvement.

“Each year, the City of Greater Sudbury remains committed to recognizing one of our community’s greatest assets,” said Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger. 

“Our volunteers are dedicated and devoted to giving back. Their leadership and involvement make a real difference in our community, and we thank them for their outstanding service.”

The following are recipients of 2020 Civic Awards:

  • Breast Screening and Assessment Volunteers – Health Sciences North Sudbury
  • Sudbury Regional Science Fair Committee
  • YMCA Women’s Wellness Weekend Volunteer Committee
  • Frontier College – Louis Street After-school Tutoring Program
  • Minnow Lake Lions Club

The annual Civic Awards recognition evening originally scheduled for April 23 was postponed due to COVID-19.

These volunteers will be recognized in person when it is safe to do so.
