Health Sciences North continues to experience higher than normal patient volumes in all of their departments, causing longer than average wait times in the emergency department.

These wait times are likely to continue over the next couple of days, as emergency departments tend to be at their busiest during long weekends, said HSN in a press release.

Patients accessing the emergency department are asked to be patient with staff during this busy time.

Regardless of delays, patients are advised to always come to the emergency department should they require urgent or emergency care. Those seeking non-urgent care are advised to access walk-in-clinics, which tend to have significantly shorter wait times, or phone Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
