Earthquakes Canada confirms 3.5 magnitude earthquake near Onaping Falls early Friday morning

This comes less than two days after a 2.9 magnitude earthquake near Sudbury

Multiple reports started circulating on social media of ground rumbles in various areas of the city around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 8 - just two days after Earthquakes Canada confirmed a 2.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Sudbury at 5:08 p.m. on Feb. 6.

Updated Feb. 8 at 7:40 a.m.

Earthquakes Canada has confirmed on its website that there was a 3.5 magnitude earthquake 14 kilometres east of Onaping Falls at 2:23 a.m. Friday morning.

Many Sudburians woke up with a case of déjà vu early Friday morning. 

Multiple reports started circulating on social media of ground rumbles in various areas of the city around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 8 - just two days after Earthquakes Canada confirmed a 2.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Sudbury at 5:08 p.m. on Feb. 6.
