Dogs! Kennel Club spring show is this weekend

Head to Toe Blake Arena in Coniston for three days of championship dog show April 5-7
Sudbury’s Sarah Petrie and Bowie show off their best-in-show ribbon from the Sudbury and District Kennel Club dog show held at Toe Blake Arena in Coniston in September, 2023.

A sure sign that spring is in the air is happening at Toe Blake Memorial Arena in Coniston from April 5-7. The Nickel District Kennel Club Inc. hosts its annual three-day Championship Dog Shows.

“The shows will feature over 200 Canadian Kennel Club-registered purebred show dogs from across Canada vying for championship titles and ranking points to determine Canada’s No. 1 dog,” the club said in a news release. “Spectators will have an opportunity to mingle with the exhibitors, dog breeders and dogs while enjoying a great learning experience.”

Clearly, spectators are welcome, but they are asked to leave their family pet at home as they will not be allowed entry.
