École St-Étienne has been providing quality French language Catholic education to the children of the Dowling community for 50 years.

To celebrate the milestone, the school is hosting a homecoming evening on Saturday, May 5 for all former students, families and staff who studied or worked at the school since its creation in 1968.

The celebration will begin at 4 p.m. with a tour of the school, followed at 5 p.m. by dinner and dance at the Dowling Community Centre.

“Despite its modest size, St-Étienne remains a cornerstone of community life and an integral part of the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO),” said a press release.

“The school has long made its mark through community involvement and charitable work. The school offers quality education to the families of Dowling, Levack, Onaping Falls and Cartier.”

Ticket sales for the event ended April 20. Phone the school for more information at 705-855-4333.
