Later this week, its education for the educators when Cambrian College hosts a conference on early children education.
On May 21 and 22, the annual Early Childhood Education Coodinators’ Conference will be held at Cambrian's Barrydowne campus, welcoming leaders in early childhood education policy, regulation, best practices, and ethics; as well as renowned experts in teaching and learning.
Speakers include:
Jim Grieve, assistant deputy minister, early learning division, to Education Minister Liz Sandals; Lois Mahon, president of the College of Early Childhood Educators, and professor at Cambrian College; and Jim Drennan, Ph.D; retired dean of Fleming College, who brings international expertise in academic integrity.
Also on hand will be Zeenat Janmohamed, Ph. D; a visiting scholar at the Atkinson Centre for Society and Child Development at the University of Toronto. Her latest research explores the impact of full day kindergarten and extended day programs.
More than 60 participants from across Ontario are expected to attend either in-person or virtually. Cambrian College faculty members will also attend sessions relevant to their teaching experience for professional development.
