Fires of note:

Wawa 7: This fire is located south of Marathon and is currently sized at 297 ha. Crews are on this fire and more resources are being sent to help control the fire.

This fire did receive a small amount of precipitation last night which helped crews make some progress today. It is still listed as not under control.

Hearst 4 and Hearst 5: These fires are listed at 475 ha and 2747 ha respectively. Ten crews are committed to the fires. Hearst 4 is not showing much fire intensity today but Hearst 5 is showing extreme fire behavior and has grown significantly.

Think wildfires are just a problem in the summer? Think again. Spring is grass fire season and grass fires can be a deadly and destructive menace. Seek alternatives to spring burning by considering composting or using your local landfill. Don’t be the reason behind a spring wildfire this year.
