This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall. Residents are encouraged to monitor weather conditions and listen for updated bulletins.

An east to west cold front over northeastern Ontario will move south this afternoon triggering thunderstorms. Some of these thunderstorms may be severe with damaging winds being the main threat.

Large hail and torrential downpours producing 50 mm in an hour or less are lesser threats.
