A faulty heating pad sent one person to hospital with burns and caused a fire at an apartment in row housing on Paris Street, Tuesday night.

A press release from Greater Sudbury Fire Services said the blaze, called in at around 11:51 p.m. last night, caused light smoke and fire damage amounting to about $1,000.

One person was evacuated from the unit. Fifteen firefighters from two fire stations responded to the call.
