Workers at the Sudbury Finnish Rest Home Society Inc. ratified a new collective agreement with their employer April 24.
The deal was struck last week after two days of non-stop bargaining between the workers' union, Mine Mill Local 598/CAW, and the employer.
The two-year contract includes improvements in language around vacation and time off, and a wage increase and bonus pay over two years. It doesn't contain any concessions, a press release from the union said.
The deal is a “success story for our city,” the press release said.
