The ?hotties? of the fire hall are at it again. With their lithe, tanned bodies, they are irresistible to the giggling crowds of women asking for their autographs in the mall.

Jamie Poffley, Mike Lindroos and Rick Landry are poster boys for good citizens in firefighters? calendar.
Yes, the 2005 Greater Sudbury Firefighters Calendar has been released, and it?s being snapped up like hotcakes.

Mr. March, aka Mike Lindroos, says he?s been getting a lot of attention lately from his biggest fan.

?My wife has poked fun at all of this, but she likes me being in the calendar. She?s proud,? says Lindroos, 39.

Over the past few years, the $10 calendars have generated more than $25,000 for local charities. This year, money will be given to the Ten Rainbows Foundation, the Sudbury Women?s Centre, and the Rotary Park Trail. Some of the funds will also go to the Firefighters Combat Challenge Team.

?It?s a great thing to be supporting all the charities in town,? says Lindroos. ?The calendars are selling really well. They have really caught on.?

Fire Chief Donald Donaldson agrees, adding that he would even consider posing for next year?s calendar.

?It?s a great idea to raise money for charity? It?s a lot of fun and a big positive booster for our departmental image,? he says.

?I?m really pleased with the efforts of the guys? The ladies love it.?

While most of the poster boys carefully prepared their bodies for the photo shoot, Lindroos says he was recruited at the last minute.

?I didn?t prepare?I wish I would have. I would have gone to the gym and lifted some iron,? he says, laughing.

Rookie firefighter Jamie Poffley, 35, is now known to his buddies as Mr. May.

But he won?t be trading his job with a swimsuit model anytime soon. Poffley didn?t realize how hard it would be to hold a ladder upright while
posing without a shirt for several hours.

?We did a lot of physical poses,? he says. ?I?ve had a lot of different reactions from my family and friends. A lot laugh, but overall, it?s been good.?
Captain Ron Hache, 52, calls himself the grandpa of the calendar. ?My picture gets put up in the seniors? homes. I?m Mr. July.

?You?ve got the hot guy for the hot month,? he says.

Hache and many of his younger colleagues underwent a gruelling routine to get ready for the photo shoot.

?We try to be in decent shape to look sexy to the girls,? says the 27-year veteran of the fire service. ?Some of the guys get ribbed about it, but it?s all
part of the camaraderie of firefighters.?

The full-colour calendars have a fire-safety message, and focus on the kind of work that firefighters do.

The calendar can be bought at many local businesses, including Arby?s, Ugi?s Restaurant, A & J Home Hardware, Poulton?s Your Independent Grocer, Moncion?s Your Independent Grocer, Cara?s Convenience, Golden Grain Bakery, Herc?s Greek Eatery, and The Gym Fitness Centre. For
