Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger is inviting residents to kick off the holiday season with the first annual Merry and Bright tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 7, beginning at 5 p.m. in the courtyard of Tom Davies Square.
Mayor Bigger and members of council will be joined by special guests the Young Sudbury Singers to celebrate and share the start of the holiday season. Enjoy the inaugural tree lighting, entertainment, free hot chocolate and light refreshments, and children’s activities, including shinny with Sudbury Wolves mascot, Howler.
Free transit will be provided for those attending the event. Simply let the transit operator know you are attending.
The Merry and Bright tree will be on display in the Tom Davies Square Courtyard from Dec. 7 to Jan. 7, the week after Orthodox Christmas.
