Food recall warning: Hampton House brand chicken strips

Labelling error could lead to improper preparation and illness

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall notice for Hampton House brand chicken strips due to a labelling error.

The product is manufactured by JD Sweid Foods Ltd., and sold throughout Ontario, as well as in the Maritimes and in Quebec.

The oven preparation instructions on the label are incorrect. The instructions should read "Preheat to 204°C (400°F)". If not properly heated, the product could contain harmful bacteria that can cause illness.

The affected product is the 1.5-kg box with Best Before dates from Jan. 20, 2018 to Feb. 11, 2018.

If you've eaten the affected product and have become sick, see a doctor. 

The product is being removed from stores. If you have this recalled product in your home, you should return it to the store where it was purchased.
